Lauren and Adam's Orlando History Center Wedding with Curt Littlecott and Stephanie Rounds

What a fantastic wedding to start out our 2012 wedding season..... The fabulous Lauren and Adam were married on January 13, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church Chapel with a gorgeous reception to follow at the Orange County History Center and we had such a great time being a part of their wedding day team!

The small details and the family connections made their day all the more meaningful. For those of you who have seen the movie Serendipity (one of my personal all-time favorites!)....Adam gave Lauren the book Love in the Time of Cholera and wrote a beautiful inscription on the inside. For the father-daughter dance - Lauren's dad personally wrote and sang the song specifically for Lauren - the song even began with Lauren's laughter as a young girl....talk about bringing out the emotions!!

With Susie Weiss of Wonderful Weddings as their coordinator, Lauren and Adam's day ran flawlessly. Lee Forrest made the ballroom at the History Center look like a softly lit winter wonderland with his floral and decor and of course, working with the two Alex's from Voila Cinematic is always a great time for us!

Lauren's Studio Bridal Portrait Session with nu visions in photography

What a fantastic start to the new year, we've had! Lauren's bridal portrait session was our first shoot for 2012 and we had such a great time with her! We've always said how much we love when our brides do a session with us prior to their big day - it's a great trial run through for wearing the dress, hair and makeup - and working with Lauren two days prior to her wedding day was no exception. We had a relaxed, "no rush" environment and Lauren was able to see how she photographed with her hair and makeup done for her special day....as you can see - she was stunning!! Not only were we able to get some great photographs of her in her beautiful gown, but Stephanie also did a mini-boudior shoot for her as a surprise to her future husband....although you won't see those images here (it is something just between Lauren and Adam)....ladies - trust me when I say that we have tons of fun when doing a this type of shoot....I believe that every woman should do one - even it just for herself!!

Congratulations Lauren - although we waited to post these images until the day after your wedding (we certainly wouldn't want Adam to get a sneak peek!)....we know without a doubt that your future husband will think you are just beautiful!

Becca and Andy's Indianapolis Engagement Session with Stephanie Rounds

Exciting things are happening here at nu visions....one of them being that we are starting to expand our Studio and work a bit more in my (Stephanie's) hometown of Indianapolis, IN. Nu Visions Orlando and Nu Visions North.....sounds great to us!!

I had such a great time working with the fabulous Becca and Andy on their engagement shoot in the quaint village of Zionsville, IN over the Holidays. What a fun couple...overcast skies and 40 degree weather didn't stop us from having a blast during their shoot. It is evident just how much Andy adores Becca....he has a way of putting the biggest smile on her face. Watching them interact during our time together made me even more excited for us to shoot their upcoming wedding on June 23rd at the historic Indiana Roof Ballroom in downtown Indianapolis.

Congratulations Becca and Andy - thanks for having us be a part of your special day...June will be here before you know it!

The Anderson Family Portraits with Curt Littlecott

There is simply not enough nice things we can say about the Anderson family. Kind, generous, loving, devoted, funny...and most importantly - they all really, really love each other! We have had the great fortune to be able to shoot two of Wyatt and Tina's daughter's weddings over the last 2 years and we just love that we continue to be able to work with all of them on their family portraits as well. With one daughter living in CA and another in TX for part of the year, it's not too often that the entire Anderson clan gets to be together - we were so happy they called upon us to come out for a visit to their Windermere home to get some great family photos of everyone together. Curt was even able to get just a few of Wyatt and Tina together on their own....talk about a couple in love - their pride and affection for each other and their family really shines through in their faces.

Thank you Anderson family for making us feel like an extension of your family - we look forward to photographing many more of your milestones, get togethers and additional grandchildren in the future!

Amy and Doug's Downtown Orlando Engagement Session with nu visions in photography

I can't begin to tell you how excited to we are to be working with Amy and Doug on their Labor Day weekend wedding in Whitefish, Montana! This couple lives in New York City and were in Orlando over Thanksgiving weekend so we had the chance to spend some time with them and do their engagement session....and what a great time we had! There is not a doubt in my mind that their Montana wedding is going to be spectacular!

Sarah and Peter's "At Home" Wedding with Stephanie Rounds

It was such a pleasure to work with the Wright family on Sarah and Peter's special day....this happy couple held their beautiful ceremony and "at home" reception on Nov. 5th and although the weather didn't cooperate completely, (a few rain drops brings good luck!) it was a perfect day. Under the coordination of the fabulous Michele and her team from Michele Butler Events, this wedding day ran flawlessly. Brian and Richard from Flourish Floral Productions provided gorgeous floral and decor and Cuisiniers displayed a buffet of great "southern" cooking.

Lindsey and David's Winter Park Farmer's Market Wedding with Curt Littlecott

Congratulations to Lindsey and David - our fabulous couple who got married on November 5th at the Mennello Museum and Winter Park Farmer's Market. Curt had such a great time working with this wonderful family - he had the pleasure of photographing Lindsey's sister's wedding just a few years ago - it means so much to us when we have families who return to us for more family weddings and/or photo shoots!

With their sunset ceremony set under the oak trees behind the museum, Lindsey and David exchanged heartfelt vows and then headed over to Winter Park for their dinner reception. Lee James and his team created a beautiful ambiance with the floral and candle light and Puff n' Stuff Catering provided the fantastic menu.

What a perfect time of year to think about having a family portrait taken.....I loved that Jerome's wife arranged (as a surprise) for he and his son, Christopher, to come in for a session with us. We had such a good time getting to know these two great people and the father/son bond was evident....especially towards the end of the shoot as we were walking back to the Studio....the last 2 photos in this series are my favorite!

Pre-Wedding bridal sessions.....we absolutely love them! What a fantastic time for our brides to do a trial hair and makeup test and wear their dress prior to the big day....all in a relaxed environment without the "rush, rush, rush" of the wedding day.

Of course, we waited until Ashley's special day had past (she just got married on Nov. 11th) to post these beautiful photos of her - we certainly didn't want to give her groom, Jonathan, a sneak peek....and what a stunning bride she was! We had so much fun working with Ashley - she was open to anything...there's nothing better than pairing a gorgeous young woman with a bit of rough textures to really make her stand out....the contrast between the two is great! She has a fantastic smile but can pull of the "fashionable" look as well...great combination!

Meghann and Eric were married on Sept. 24th at the gorgeous Bella Collina Country Club in Monteverde, FL and we were so excited to be a part of their wedding day team! Meghann was a stunning bride....her dress was like none we have seen and I absolutely loved the "bird cage" hair piece/veil...so very elegant. From the moment her dad saw her prior to the ceremony, the emotions ran high...tears, laughter, tenderness, romance....everything we love in a wedding day. The fact that the skies were stormy in the distance as we were taking photos in the evening was a bonus...love when that happens!!!

Rarely do I post something about our personal lives here - however, when something big happens for either one of us - we want you to know! 2011 has been a great year for both Curt and myself.....

First - Curt and his fiance Susie added another cutie to their beautiful family - little man Louie became a big brother to little miss Rosie! She was born on March 18th and is now a gorgeous 6 month old giving her big brother (who just turned 2!!) a run for his money!

Second - I (Steph) got married on July 28th up in my hometown of Indianapolis! It was a perfect day to celebrate with my closest friends and family....my dad was able to come home from Afghanistan (where he is currently serving a year of duty) - so everyone was together and I couldn't have asked for a better day. A big thank you to our dear friends (and wedding team) who all traveled to Indy to make our day perfect....Lee Forrest (gorgeous florals!) Michele Butler (event planner extraordinaire), Marjorie Robinson (hair and makeup diva) and Gary and Julie (fantastic photographers) - me (and new hubby KJ) are forever thankful for everything you all did for us.

We do have a few more things "up our sleeves" for 2011 and 2012 - so stay tuned for more exciting news in the next several months! It's going to be a great year for nu visions!

Every year, the Florida Professional Photographers Convention is held in Orlando. It's a great time to reconnect with fellow photographers from around the State, listen to some fantastic speakers (Drake Busath and Cliff Mautner to name a few) and compete in print competition. We are excited to say that in this year's competition, both Curt and Stephanie faired well. Curt scored his highest ever with a 99...what an exciting moment that was!!

Below are the images that we did well with.....the first three are Curt's (the #1 print being his 99 which received a distinguished award!) and the last three are Steph's.

Jennifer and Kyle's Dubsdread Country Club Wedding with nu visions in photography

There are so many wonderful things we can say about Jennifer and Kyle - but the best thing we learned about this oh-so-in-love couple is that they both come from rock-solid, faith based families who all genuinely love each other. We had such a great time getting to know Jenn and Kyle and hearing all about their love story.

Their August 12th, Dubsdread Country Club wedding was full of details....from the lace overlays that were hand made by Jenn's grandmother, to the groom's cake made into a tree that included their initials "carved" into the side of it....and of course, we can't forget the bench circled with candle light that was created to look just like the bench where Kyle proposed to Jenn up in Illinois....no detail went unnoticed.

With a fabulous team of Susie Weiss of Wonderful Weddings, Lana from Fairbanks Flowers, Jeff Stoner of Stoner Video and DJ Brian Scott...this night was perfect!

Thank you so much to Jenn, Kyle and their families for making our jobs so easy - it was a true pleasure to work with such a wonderful group of people. This is why we love what we do.

We had such a great time working with Haley (and her fabulous mom!!) on her pre-bridal session at the Hyatt Grand Cypress! It is so much fun when one of our bride's decides to do a bridal session prior to her big day....it allows us the luxury of time (which we generally don't have on the wedding day) as well as gives our bride the opportunity to wear her dress and do a trial hair and makeup run through to make sure everything works just perfectly on the wedding day.

Haley is beautiful (inside and out!) and had a sense of calmness and elegance about her that really showed through in her photos. We were so excited to photograph her and Mike's special day yesterday - their wedding photos will be appearing here soon!!

From lush orchids and creative florals to fantastic purple couches and beautiful linens....the ballroom was breathtaking. To end the evening...Lily and Jordan drove away in a classic white Bentley - now that's a way to start a marriage!

Anyone who knows us well, knows that March through June of every year is our wedding season....which we absolutely love! On average, we shoot 18 weddings during these 4 months....so....when an opportunity is brought to us to do something just a little bit different during this time, we get pretty excited! Give us great musicians with tons of character in an incredibly cool location.....absolutely, sign us up! We had so much fun working with this very talented Jazz Ensemble - and a special thank you to Jeff Gitto (owner of Vintage Lounge) for allowing us to use his great space for this shoot.

Helen and Steve's Country Club of Orlando Wedding with nu visions in photography

We love Helen and Steve....period. From our very first meeting with this fantastic couple last Fall, we knew they were something pretty special. The way they looked at each other...the way they treated each other....and then, the way they treated us. As soon as Helen and Steve hired us to shoot their February 12th wedding we were a part of their family. We went into their special day with such excitement because we felt like we were photographing the wedding of our good friends.

The Annunciation Catholic Church was the site of their emotional ceremony and the Country Club of Orlando is where the party started! With Susie Weiss and her fantastic team from Wonderful Weddings coordinating the day - everything was perfect. I am a firm believer that every woman should do a boudior shoot - not only is it great for the self-esteem but it's such a fun time as well! Good wine, great music and fantastic photos....what else can a girl ask for? Kristen and I had so much fun in our nu visions studio for her shoot....her willingness to get a bit adventurous was fantastic and the fact that she was incredibly comfortable in front of the camera was a bonus! Not only is she absolutely gorgeous, but her confidence really came through in the photos...a perfect combination, in my opinion!

Monica is stunning....period. With her piercing green eyes, ivory skin and red hair, she exudes a quiet confidence and inner beauty that comes through in her photos. Her parents house in Windermere was the perfect backdrop for the shoot - not only is it a beautiful home, but it made the entire shoot more personal and allowed Monica to feel comfortable and relaxed.

We had such a great time with Anna and Danny during their engagement session with us over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Downtown Orlando is one big studio for us - the light is constantly changing and bouncing off the buildings and there are so many colors, textures, backgrounds....we never get bored! Of course, having a couple to work with who are as cute as ever and are so obviously in love made this shoot even more fun for us! Based on our short time with this great couple, their special day in June at the Waldorf Astoria is sure to be filled with a perfect combination of laughter and love.

Samantha & Mike's Grand Bohemian Wedding with Curt Littlecott and Stephanie Rounds

Samantha and Mike were married on October 24th at the eclectic Grand Bohemian Hotel in downtown Orlando and we were thrilled to be a part of their fantastic wedding team! Not only was the connection between Samantha and Mike exactly what we always look for, but Sam and her mom's bond was undeniable....and it showed!

A big thank you to Tracy Marini's team from Eventfully Yours for coordinating a flawless day. The gorgeous florals of dark plums, burgundy and deep gold by Lee James created a feeling of richness throughout both the ceremony and reception. Of course, the staff at the Grand Bohemian were fantastic to work with - we always love working at this great property - and it certainly doesn't hurt that it's only 2 blocks from our nu visions studio!

Taylor and Jake's Savannah Wedding - The Mansion at Forsythe Park and nu visions in photography

One of the best compliments we can receive is when we are presented with the opportunity to work with the same family more than once. Taylor (fabulous fashion designer and the sister of Laura - whose wedding we shot last January) and Jake (the handsome groom and professional baseball player) were married on Oct. 17, 2010 at The Mansion on Forsyth Park in Savannah, GA.

With the assistance and guidance of talented wedding planner, Michele Butler and her team from Michele Butler Events, this wedding was beautiful, classy and emotional. The fountain (lit up with hot pink lights!) at Forsyth Park was the background for the sunset ceremony and the artistic and eclectic feel of The Mansion was the perfect ambiance for the reception. Of course, being the designer that Taylor is, you can bet that every detail was thought through...from her fantastic hot pink and silver shoes down to the baseballs monogrammed with their names and wedding date to give away as gifts...this wedding day was perfect.

A Night with Snoop Dogg by Curt Littlecott

Every once in a while we get the opportunity to do some pretty cool jobs outside of our wedding and portrait business.....working with Snoop Dogg was one of those times! Recently, nu visions was hired by Bandwagon Roadshow to get great shots of Snoop Dogg and Mix Master Mike from the Beastie Boys while they was on stage performing during their show here in Orlando. Curt was the only photographer allowed on stage - not only did he get fantastic images but he had the best seat in the house for this incredible show!

A Family with Faith.....Bronwyn, Tom and Baby Hayden - by Stephanie Rounds

Every so often a special person or family comes in to our lives and touch our hearts in a way that changes us forever. This was the gift that this family gave to me....

Bronwyn has been a close family friend of the Rounds family for over 20 years. She and Tom got married in 2009 and in early 2010, found out they were pregnant with little man Hayden. The due date was mid-October. In July, Bronwyn was diagnosed with a brain tumor and her (and her family's) lives changed forever. So many decisions to make in a very short amount of time....the biggest one being how to carry little Hayden to term. She ended up giving birth to Hayden on August 27, 2010....what a fighter he is - just like his mom. 7 weeks premature and as strong as ever!

Two weeks later, Bronwyn, Tom and Hayden were in Indianapolis for an appointment with her neurosurgeon regarding her upcoming brain surgery. It just so happened, I was in Indy visiting my family so I had to take the opportunity to get a few impromptu family photos! 4 weeks after these photos was taken, on Friday, October 8th, Bronwyn went in for her surgery. The tumor was much larger than they anticipated....but after 12 hours of surgery - the team of doctors were able to remove the entire mass! Bronwyn continues to get stronger every day and the biggest blessing is that the tumor was not cancerous!

I normally don't write such a lengthly blog post, but this family's love for each other was so strong - Bronwyn's faith gave her such strength and even when her loved ones worried so much, I believe her words were "don't worry about things you can't change".

I know that Bronwyn, Tom and their families are thankful for these photos, however, I am the one who is grateful for being a witness to the courage, love and strength of this new family.

Downtown Orlando Engagement Session - Monica and Andrew

We love when our couple's set aside extra time for us to get great photographs of them and Monica and Brett gave us that luxury 2 days prior to their big day. Yes - that's right....they got all dressed up in their wedding clothing and gave us the time to do a pre-wedding shoot at Cypress Grove Estate House with no timeline attached. Not so traditional - maybe....fun and out of the box thinking - definitely! We had such a great time with this dynamic couple and two days later, on their wedding day at a private residence in Melbourne Beach, the pressure was off. They were able to enjoy their intimate wedding celebration with their family and friends without having to take too much time away from the party for additional photos. The Waldorf Astoria.....just the name is beautiful! We had the pleasure of working with our fantastic couple, Andrew and Linda, on their beautiful wedding day on April 10, 2010. Susie Weiss and her team from Wonderful Weddings coordinated this incredible event. With the helpful "eye for detail" of event designer Kristen Koldenhoven, Flourish Floral Productions produced the most stunning decor we have seen in a very long time. With two gown changes and eight...yes eight! shoe changes, Linda was just gorgeous. The reason for the eight pairs of shoes? The heel on each pair got progressively lower as the night went on so that her feet never hurt.....love it!! Janine and her team from the Waldorf provided exceptional service and working with Perfect Sky Video, Bake Me A Cake, Fun Factory and Fifth Avenue Band rounded out a great team of vendors. Bali Wedding - Curt Littlecott with Indra Leonardi

While Curt was over in Indonesia for the annual Society of XXV meeting, he had the once in a lifetime opportunity to shoot a wedding in Bali with the great portrait artist and fellow XXV member, Indra Leonardi.

The wedding ceremony took place at a chapel built into the cliffs at the Nikko Resort and Spa and was followed by a very elaborate reception with 400 guests under a huge tent. Most of the family and guests were flown in from Jakarta for the 3 days of celebrations that ended with an after party in a separate clear-top tent and a beautiful fireworks display on the beach.

It was a true pleasure for Curt to capture the storytelling images while Indra created the most exquisite portraits of Regan and Yvone.

Curt Littlecott and Society of XXV in Bali

For the past two weeks, Curt has been in Bali for the annual meeting of the Society of XXV. Each year, this elite group of some of the world's finest International photographers get together at a different location in the world. The goal of XXV is to raise the art of photography for the members to new standards through free exchange of ideas and techniques and to increase their business awareness accordingly. Below is the press release that went out regarding a photography exhibition that XXV and Curt were a part of last week in Bali. The first image is of Curt at work (taken by master photographer and good friend, Marcus Bell). The second image is the photo that Curt took and is hanging in the exhibition. It was one of the first prints sold on the opening night. The final image was taken opening night of the exhibition.

International photographic organization, Society of Twenty-Five, will open a photographic exhibition of iconic figures of Bali. The opening will be March 2, 2010 at 6:30pm at the KOMANEKA Fine Art Gallery un Ubud, Bali. The images will be on exhibit through March 12, 2010 and will then travel to other locations around the world.

The photographic artists will attend the opening night of the exhibit. Profits from the sale of the images will benefit the Komunitas Anak Alam, a community of Indonesian youth with various activities dedicated to educating and nurturing marginalized and disadvantaged children in Blandingan Village, a remote area in the hills around Batur Lake Caldera in Kintamani, Bali.

Lauren and Keon's Indianapolis Wedding with Stephanie Rounds

Just a few weeks ago, I (Stephanie) had the great priviledge of working with Lauren and Keon on their big day in the fabulous city of Indianapolis....and oh what fun I had! Not only is Indianapolis my hometown, but the downtown area is fantastic for photography! The day began at Northminster Presbyterian Church in the older part of town known as Broad Ripple. What made the ceremony even more special is that Lauren's grandfather officiated the candlelight service...he had been a pastor at Northminster for several years and it was important to Lauren that he be a part of her special day. The ceremony was filled with special touches and emotional moments - it was wonderful to witness the great love not only between Lauren and Keon, but their families as well. Then it was off to the heart of downtown for photos and the reception at the beautiful Westin Hotel.

Lauren and Keon...thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your memorable day. It was an honor to be witness to the love you share and the new life you have created together as a married couple.

Lauren and Thomas' North Carolina Wedding

When Lauren and Thomas asked if we would be willing to travel up to Sapphire, NC to shoot their beautiful Fall wedding - of course our answer was a resounding YES! We were so excited to have the opportunity to work with the Hames Family again - and shooting a North Carolina wedding with the beautiful fall colors in the mountains was an added bonus for us. The setting for both the ceremony and reception was Burlingame Country Club, a very special place to the Hames family, as they have been coming to NC for many years for family vacations. Cheryl and Mark's Engagement Session

I am a hopeless romantic and there isn't anything better than one of our couples having a truly great love story. Cheryl and Mark may actually win the prize for grand romantic gestures. I don't think I could say it any better than they did....below is what was written in their engagement photo guest book that we put together for them:

"Mark got down on one knee and asked Cheryl to marry him on November 24, 2008. They talked about what kind of wedding they wanted to have and Cheryl thought it would be nice to have something small and intimate. She was thinking outside....maybe a vineyard or a ranch. They are always doing something outside so they both thought that would be perfect! Soon after, Cheryl took a trip with some girlfriends to look at a ten acre ranch in Dover, FL. They had a quaint barn setup for a wedding and it seemed ideal. When she told Mark about it, he said, "Babe, I can build that!" So he did just that! It's now one year later and Cheryl and Mark are having a big old fashioned Southern style wedding in a much larger pole barn built for their special day!"

Jennifer and Greg's New York City Engagement Shoot

While Curt was in NY to speak at the Hudson Valley Talent Exchange Program last week, he had the opportunity to shoot Jennifer and Greg's engagement session in the city.....and oh, what fun that was!! Jennifer and Greg will be getting married in Orlando at Isleworth Country Club next Spring and it worked out just perfectly for us to do their engagement session in their hometown of NYC. There's nothing better than the bustling city to get some fantastic shots and I am sure you will agree...the future bride and groom are just beautiful together. I feel so proud to have the honor of announcing the arrival of Curt and Susie's new little boy....baby Louie James Curtis. He made his debut into the world on Tuesday, September 15th at 8:30pm weighing in at a healthy 7 pounds 12 ounces. Congratulations Curt and Susie...your little man is going to bring you more love and joy than you ever could have imagined! Thank you for allowing me to do your first "official" family photo shoot...I look forward to many more!

It was a great night for our Studio this past Tuesday evening! Each year, we enter the Florida Professional Photographers Print Competition and for the past several years - we've done well! This year was no exception. Curt took 1st place in Wedding Photojournalism, Best in Show for Wedding Photojournalism and won the Kodak Gallery Award....all with the same print! I (Stephanie) took 3rd place in Wedding Photojournalism and 1st place in the Environmental Portrait category. We are so very lucky to do what we love every single day and we feel fortunate to be a part of such a great organization of talented professional photographers!

Every so often we are reminded how lucky we are to get to do what we love every day. There is nothing better than getting hired to do a fashion shoot and being told there are no rules! The following images are from the first in a series of photo shoots that we are doing for a new bar called Bullitt, in downtown Orlando. We were able to use a great venue for this shoot - Muscle Cars and Handle Bars, in South Orlando. Thanks to Marjorie Robinson for providing the fantastic hair and makeup and Theresa and Ashley - you ladies rocked!! We couldn't have asked for better models! Come check out even more photos from this shoot when Bullitt opens in early September - we will be rotating out our photography on their walls every few months!
